IPCC starts international cooperation with IPOS International

Industrial Property Cooperation Center (IPCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IPOS International Pte Ltd (IPOS International), a wholly owned subsidiary of Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). This is the first time IPCC has signed an MoU with an overseas organization.

The MoU was signed on November 14, 2019 in Singapore, by Daren Tang, Chairman, IPOS International; and Takashi Suzuki, President, IPCC.

Based on the MoU, IPOS International and IPCC will strengthen their partnership by appointing each other as a branch office in its respective country. In recent years, the ability to search in the Chinese language has become essential due to the surge in number of Chinese publications each year. With IPOS International’s expertise in the Chinese language, it can now offer a holistic suite of IP services in native Chinese to Japanese companies through the IPCC. Similarly, various services such as prior art search in the Japanese language provided by IPCC can be used by enterprises in Singapore through IPOS International.

In the future, IPCC will continue to plan and develop cooperation projects that will benefit both Japanese and Singaporean companies through collaboration with IPOS International.
